Day 2 – Anuradhapura Sacred Buddhist Pilgrimage

Today is dedicated to exploring the sacred Buddhist heritage of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in Sri Lanka.

Begin with a visit to the Sri Maha Bodhi, one of the most revered Buddhist sites on the island. The sacred tree is believed to have grown from a sapling of the original Bodhi tree associated with the Buddha’s enlightenment.

Continue to some of Anuradhapura’s magnificent stupas, monasteries, and ancient religious monuments.

Day 3 – Mihintale Pilgrimage & Ancient Buddhist Heritage

After breakfast, visit Mihintale, one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Sri Lanka.

Mihintale is traditionally regarded as the place where Arahat Mahinda Thera introduced Buddhism to King Devanampiya Tissa and the people of Sri Lanka.

Climb the ancient steps and explore the sacred mountain complex, including stupas, meditation caves, and historic religious monuments.

Later, continue towards the Polonnaruwa area.
